Retirement planning is the process of creating a retirement income goal, and then gathering information about your potential sources of retirement income. You then use this information to help determine how to meet your goals using savings and investments. While we may all hope that social security can meet our retirement needs, the payments are often much lower than most people need to pay for their expenses.
